In the year
1967, in Bopal village with a population of around 2000, there were no
facilities for secondary education. In such a situation, the existing trustees
had to face great difficulties to obtain secondary education. Thinking that
such difficulties should not be faced by the sons and daughters of our village,
and that the residents of the village should not remain deprived of secondary
education, the noble idea of starting a secondary school in Bopal village came
to my mind. At that time, with the help of the village elders and social
workers, a school was started in Bopal village by bringing school and
educational materials in a bullock cart from a village named Shilaj, spending
only ₹3300, and thus education work was initiated.
Bopal Kelavani Mandal
was established in reg no. E-1556. In the early years, the organisation faced
severe financial difficulties. The school was run in the Gram Panchayat
building and also in the building of a new primary school. However, these
buildings were not suitable from a facilities point of view. Therefore, the
villagers and those who had settled in Ahmedabad came together, and the trust board decided to construct a new
building for the organisation. After continuous efforts, by 2023 the school building
now has more than 60 classrooms and includes modern facilities such as attractive
play area for k.g students, modern laboratories, R.O plant, a library,
audio-visual rooms, modern toilets, a spacious computer lab, and smart boards
in every classroom. All this has been possible due to the pious administration
of the trust.
The aim of the organisation
is to provide quality education at an affordable fee to middle-class and poor
students living in and around Bopal, and to expand educational services. For
this purpose, the institution appoints well-qualified and trained teachers and
takes care of their welfare. The institution is completely self-financed.
As of now in 2023,
the organisation includes B.K.M.Balvibhag , B.K.M. Primary School, B.K.M.
English School, M.A. Patel secondary & Higher Secondary School, with
Gujarati and English medium, where more than 3000 students are studying.
